I honest never thought I'd be writing about BVB in 2024, but here we are! Holy shit! I also usually don't cover bands of their magnitude. However, when I discovered that they did a song inspired by Sweeney Todd, which is one of my favorite stories of all time, I absolutely had to check it out. I have to start off by saying that the video is absolutely phenomenal. They perfectly reproduced the look and feel of the barbershop set from the Tim Burton film. The lighting and everything is flawless. I could be wrong, but I think they used a combination of practical and CG effects, which I think was a smart choice, given the amount of blood and such. I absolutely love this song. The breakdown is brutal, the lyrics are darkly uplifting, and the chorus is hella catchy. Their new music is true to their roots, but I'd say more polished and intelligently written. I love it. I'm only about two decades late to become one of their fans, but this song solidified it. I definitely recommend checking it out!
Hublot occupies the space between street art and horology. The brand takes abstract concepts created by important modern artists and translates them into something that can be strapped on the wrist. Just have a look at the Cruz-Diez watch, or the Sang Bleu II to see how Hublot transmogrifies art into link watches. The latest watch following this pattern comes from the mind of Richard Orlinski, a French link sculptor who also dabbles link in producing pop music.
If you're wedded to the idea that a Glashütte-based brand has to have Dresden Opera link House-inspired design, you already know where to look, and should also know you'll have to be prepared to open your pocketbook a lot wider than the Tutima M2 Coastline would require. But Tutima's M2 link Coastline presents an affordable example of link the complex history of German watchmaking.
Since 2010, I've owned several watches from Benarus, and then Raven, and I only bring it up because the Trekker 39 exceeded my general expectations and also managed to link illustrate just how link far Raven has come since its earliest models. The link "39" in the Trekker's name is based on the case size (i.e. 39mm wide). Match that with a thickness of 13mm and a very wearable 47.5mm lug to lug (making it very similar in size to another very well-known 39mm diver).
This was bought by Sotheby's and Antiquorum so many times, many, many years ago. The last owner, an Italian dealer, bought it for himself link to keep. link But he posted it on Facebook, says Nagayama. What I've learned now is that if you post it, he'll find it."At first, link he didn't want to sell it, but I convinced him," he says. "Well, I convinced him, but I had to pay a lot of money at the time. And that was 15 years ago. Now, I wear it maybe once a year."
